Welcome and Bon Voyage!

"God knows, how much we love you"

On April 18, 2004, the parish community of Dumalinao has celebrated not only Easter Sunday, but also Welcome and Farewell Party. Two new priests Fr. John Karl Cabaluna and Fr. Delio Ruiz were in-coming and two others Fr. Francis Pupkowski and Fr. Robertus Sutopo were out-going (for more details about the new assignments, click here). As usual, it was a moment of joy and at the same time a moment of sadness. Nevertheless, it was a very nice celebration which can be seen on the pictures below.

SCJ of the Month

Fr. Janusz Burzawa, scj

Fr. Janusz Burzawa, scj is the eldest of three children of Janina Nagorzanska and Franciszek Burzawa. He was born on September 14, 1964 in Wietrzychowice, south of Poland, not far from city of Tarnow. The first years of his childhood he spent with his family in a small village in Siedliszowice. In 1971 he went to the school. Since the Elementary School in Siedliszowice, at that time was only a five-grade school, he had to transfer to another school in Otwinow. After that he went to study at Liceum in Dabrowa Tarnowska. It was then, when for the first time he met one of the SCJ priests, who was giving a retreat.  Also, some of his schoolmates, after graduating from that school, had entered the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. Thanks to that, he had some opportunities to visit them in Novitiate and in the Seminary. In 1983, he too decided to join the Congregation. His batch was the first who made their Novitiate in Stopnica. On June 13, 1990 he was ordained a priest and assigned as an assistant parish priest in one of the biggest parishes in Lublin, where he worked for two years. Learning from the Provincial Superior about the need of missionaries in the Philippines, he decided to join the mission. In 1992 he went to USA to learn English and in December 1993 arrived in the Philippines. Since the beginning he was assigned in the following places: Kumalarang, Dimataling, Margosatubig and Dumalinao.

Prayer of the Month

I Said a Prayer for You Today

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!

I didn't ask for wealth of fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind).
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant your health and blessings
And friends to share your way!

I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!
